Accessibility

This site aims to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. If something here does not work for you, the clinic will help you directly.

Our commitment

This site aims to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. Booking an appointment and sending an inquiry should be possible whatever device, browser or assistive technology you use — and if they are not, there is a person you can contact instead.

Accessibility is treated as part of building the site, not as a later correction. It is checked on every change rather than once at launch.

What has been done

  • Semantic HTML. Pages use real headings, lists, landmarks and form labels, in a logical reading order, so screen readers and reader modes can make sense of them.
  • Keyboard operation. Every link, button and form field can be reached and used with a keyboard alone. A skip link at the top of each page jumps straight to the main content.
  • Visible focus. Whatever has keyboard focus is clearly outlined, and the outline is not removed anywhere.
  • Contrast. Text and background colour pairs are checked against the WCAG 2.2 AA contrast thresholds before they are used.
  • Works without JavaScript. The site is static HTML and CSS. Navigation, the service catalog and the inquiry form all work with JavaScript switched off or blocked.
  • Reduced motion. There is no decorative animation that conveys meaning, and transitions are switched off for visitors whose system asks for reduced motion.
  • Text zoom and small screens. Layouts are built in relative units and are usable from a 320 pixel wide screen upward and at 200% text zoom, without content being cut off or requiring sideways scrolling.
  • No autoplay. No page plays audio or video automatically, and there is no carousel, marquee or popup that moves or interrupts on its own.
  • Images. Every image carries alternative text, and images that are purely decorative are hidden from assistive technology rather than described.

Known limitations

Being honest about the gaps is more useful than claiming there are none.

  • The booking page is a third-party service. Appointments are scheduled through an external Google Calendar appointment page. Its accessibility is determined by Google, and the clinic cannot modify it. If it does not work for you, call or email and an appointment will be arranged for you directly.
  • ClassPass is a third-party service. The same applies to booking through ClassPass: its site, app and checkout are outside the clinic’s control.
  • Testing coverage is not exhaustive. The site has been checked with keyboard navigation, automated tooling and browser zoom. It has not been through an independent audit with every combination of screen reader and browser, so a barrier may still exist that we have not found.
  • Some images are placeholders. Until final clinic photography is in place, some illustrations are stand-ins. Their alternative text describes what is shown, but it will improve when the final images arrive.
  • Documents. No PDFs or downloadable documents are published on this site. If that changes, an accessible alternative will be offered alongside the file.

Reporting a barrier or asking for help

If any part of this site is difficult or impossible for you to use, please tell us. A short description is enough: the page, what you were trying to do, and what happened. If you can, mention the browser or assistive technology you were using — it helps, but it is not required.

You do not have to use the web form. The clinic email address and phone number at the end of this page are always available, and anything the site can do can also be done by telephone, including asking about a treatment, requesting a price or arranging an appointment.

Every accessibility message is read and answered by a person at the clinic. Where something can be fixed, it will be fixed and this page updated. Where it cannot — for example on a third-party booking page — you will be told plainly and offered another way to get what you need.

Either route reaches the clinic without using the web form. Tell us the page and what happened, and say if you would like the reply by phone instead of email.
